Grey and miserable.

I'm not having a good week.

Hubby has gone to Hong Kong on business again, I've not been feeling too well all week- headachy and nauseous (no, I'm not pregnant) and I really didnt have a good week at work (long story that I'd rather forget about so dont really want to chronicle it all here so that I can be reminded about it forever - do you see what I mean?)

So all in all I'm feeling rather gratuitously sorry for myself. :(

I know in the grand scheme of things I really have NOTHING to moan about, that my life really isnt all that bad, but that doesnt stop a little moping does it? And lets not even go there about the weather in England right now!!!

I really should be trying to get my coursework finished off, the final deadline of August 10th is rapidly approaching but I'm burying my head in the sand about it and am trying to convince myself that when school breaks up next Friday I'll manage to get it all done. Just like that. I'm not sure what kind of enthusiasm/motivation/efficiency miracle I'm expecting but needless to say, that's what I'm pinning my hopes on. I have been slowly chipping away at it over the last few weeks but it's one of those things where the more you do, the more you realise there is left to tackle.

But hey, my Wingspan is coming along well. Well, it was until I noticed a dropped stitch and had to rip about 20 rows out. Infact, it's getting really long and I'm going to have to order a longer cable for my Knit Pro Interchangables. I dont really know how long to make it so I think I'll just carry on til the end of the yarn.

Have a look:

What do you think?

It's alittle smaller than it was before I ripped lots out still but it's getting there.

And this is what I've been up to this evening........

I must admit that I've not been at all interested in the Olympics but seeing this all going on was pretty cool.

It was raining - shocker! - Really grey and miserable

but there was a really good atmosphere. Was quite exciting really!

I hope you have a good week.

I'm hooking up with Handmade Monday from Handmade Harbour again. Pop over and have a look.

  1. I'm with you with the olympics but I was really glad that we made the effort to go and see it. We were very lucky and didn't get wet although it was a bit of a mud bath underfoot! I love the wingspan with the way that the colous graduate. Good luck with everything this week (or two!).

  2. We went to see the torch (seems like ages ago) and it was a fabulous morning out. Great atmosphere and the sun was shining - it used to do that, you know! The wingspan is lovely, such pretty colours.
My husband regularly disappears off to Hong Kong and China so you have my sympathy. Hoping that this week improves for you. x

  3. Sorry that you're having a bad week. Let's hope next week brings a little more sunshine- physical and metaphorical!

  4. Wow, you wingspan is looking really good... well done! You must not live too far from em, we had the torch on Friday... just loved the way that everyone left with a big smile on their face... hope it made you feel a little more hopeful too :)

  5. Hope you're feeling more upbeat soon (let's hope for a sudden upturn in the weather and we may all feel a bit better!). The wingspan is looking good, looks like a lot of work has gone into it x

  6. I do love the colour of your wingspan. I'm another who didn't think I was all that interested in the torch relay but was so glad I went.
Sounds like you need a bit of sunshine, hope some comes your way :)

  7. Your wingspan looks lovely, the colours are gorgeous.
Hope your feeling better soon. Ali x

  8. I'd never heard of a wingspan before I read this and having googled, I have to say yours is up with the best I've seen!Love the colours.hope your spirits feel better soon-don't think this weather helps!

  9. Hope you feel a bit better this week. I too had never heard of a 'wingspan' until now but yours does look really good :)

  10. Great photo's of the torch, it's not something that happens every day so it's nice that you managed to see it. I hope you are feeling better soon and it's ok to feel a little bit of self pity on occasions.
Good luck with the course work, it's not that long till August so try not to cram at the last minute.

    Jan x

  11. Thats a shame you had to rip back so far :0(
I sometimes use a crochet hook to get a dropped stitch back into place. Good pictures of the torch going through even with the rain!

  12. I wish i had managed to see the torch but unfortunately work came first, but geat for those that have seen it as it's something we'll never experience again. Sounds like lots going on for you at the moment and the weather certainly doesnt help. Think we all feel a little low occasionally, hope things pick up soon
