A FO, whether I like it or not!!!

ok, So I havent done as many of these as I'd hoped but here they are:

And this is why I havent done any more :(

ooops.

Luckily it was just a free one from a magazine. I wonder if I'll be able to pick a new one up tomorrow, it was the only one I had in that size. :(

Pop over to Tamis for some more FO s. Hopefully a bit more productive than me :(

Or have a look at Wonder Why Gal's fiber arts friday links.

  1. Ah, a broken hook? Argh! I have vowed that I will (re)learn crochet this weekend. I figured with a good dose of holiday cheer I will be in the right mindset to try. Years ago my aunt tried and I made one dishtowel in crochet. It was hideous and I didn't have any patience. Well...over 25 years have passed and I think I'm ready to try again. I think your snowflakes are beautiful and I hope you find another hook.

Merry Christmas. Thank you for joining Fiber Arts Friday! I look forward to seeing more of your projects in the coming year.

  2. Oh thank you,
Yes it's a broken hook. My mum has looked thro my Grandma's hooks and has found a 4.5 mm (mine was 4mm) so i might try that. I have been managing with the 2 inches left of the hook tho!

the pattern is from here: http://jellywares.blogspot.com/2010/11/jelly-xmas-star-tutorial.html and it's very easy to follow.
I find that if theres a stitch I dont know, I you tube it. The Knit Witch does really easy to follow videos.

  4. I learned how to crochet before anything else ... it's awesome for small pieces to be made into larger pieces. Love the stars!

  6. Oh that's frustrating!

I'm currently inching along with a pair of circular needles that are on their last leg... the cable and needles are no longer permanently attached. :-/

I do like your stars... I remember making similar ones with my mom when I was a kiddo. :-)

    Merry Christmas!

  7. I love your stars!! I have been wanting to crochet stars for awhile now, but just learned to crochet last summer. I am currently working on the granny stripe blanket from Attic24. I might challenge myself to some stars after that is complete :o) Love your blog!

  8. How frustrating. More so because I have far too many hooks of that size but they're here and you're there. I hope the situation is rectified soon!!

  9. My daughter just had the same thing happen to her with what looks the be the exact same hook. She was not a happy crocheter either. Mommy gave her a set of interchangable metal hooks awhile back that she had forgotten about so she got right back to work. Soo Sorry you had to go through this.

  12. I can't believe that your hook broke and that you've been somehow working with half a hook...impressive!
